I'd like to jump in here and agree that it might be an existing choker that has been lengthened by inserting just a few large pearls in the centre front. It is very likely that, in the era of the tiniest waists, the ladies were leaner all over and their chokers would not fit a lady today. A smart way to adapt an old piece to get enjoyment wearing it. Edit: not really a choker under discussion but my suggestion still applies to a necklace that is just a bit short to properly suit or satisfy the wearer. I suppose bits and pieces of castoffs from old, or bracelets, would be a source for colour matching pearls. --Previous Message-- : Is that true? It is also possible that it is : an existing pearl collier which was changed : quite cleverly (by adding large central : pearls). I think it is an existing collier, : maybe a forgotten one or just an adapted : one. There are so many pearl colliers that : it looks a bit unlogic to me that Queen : Máxima would purchase another new one. : : :
