It's an interesting piece which we have seen only once or twice since then. The Queen was wearing several diamond and greyish pearl jewels that day which was in celebration of her 40th anniversary of her ascencion to the throne in 1898. She was Queen since 1890 after her father had passed but only invested in 1898. Her mother Queen Emma had acted as Regent.
