In an article about the Order of the Netherlands Lion in Vorsten of December 1980 Gerard Offers writes that Juliana lost the breast star of her order during the Second World War. Since then she has worn an old star from the mid-19th century. It is gold with a scaly ("geschubde") silver cross. I guess the colour green in the picture must be a reflection in silver of something nearby (the bouquets near the throne?).
