I certainly knew what the angles were for. I still think the angled stalks are rigid rather than flexible. They need to be rigid to maintain the angle? Anyone know?
--Previous Message-- : the 'stalks' are bent in that shape so as to : give an impression that the motifs float, : ie, there is not a rod or post that the : motif sits on, being bent in such a way : gives a visual illusion that the wires : "disappear"...receding from view : as they do when seen face on. : : --Previous Message-- : : Thank you Tamara. I do enjoy seeing the : mechanics involved. : : I think those stalks are rigid and unlikely : to provide an en tremblant effect. Anyone : know? : : : --Previous Message-- : Yes the same stalks are used to mount the : 'Pearl Buttons' or rather Diamond and Pearl : Flower ornaments on the base of the tiara. : I always found the stalks a bit oddly : shaped. Too prominent. Perhaps they act like : springs to create movement but they look too : solid for that. Any thoughts anyone? : : --Previous Message-- : : Thank you Tamara for those good closeups. I : note how the stars are attached on angled : stalks. : : : --Previous Message-- : Here are the closeups of the star tiara..as : promised : : : : : : : : : : : : :
