Re: Queen Emma with Mystery Tiara Archived Message

To me the "thickstone" necklace Queen Juliana wore so often comes closest.
As for the smaller version of the sapphire tiara, the press release said it was worn for a wedding for the first time. Anyway, what Queen Emma wears does not resemble that tiara at all.

: But Johan, that's the whole mystery! Her, at
: least to us, three or even four known tiaras
: if you include the upper part of her Van
: Kempen Tiara, and even in the settings you
: describe, don't seem to match with what we
: see here in the picture!
: I don't think it's her diamond tiara as in
: this picture it lacks height.
: The Mellerio Ruby Tiara is again too high
: and you would clearly recognise the diamond
    : garlands.
: Her Sapphire Tiara is clearly out of the
    : question.
: And the second, much smaller, frame was, as
: I understood it, never used untill the
: wedding day of Prince Friso and Mabel W-S.
    :
    :
: So, OK bare with me for a second:
    :
: Let us consider she's wearing something put
: together for the occassion. Look at
: Wilhelmina! Perhaps a necklace as a tiara?
: Maybe even her riviere of diamonds, the one
: she received with the devant de corsage
: she's also wearing. They were a National
: Wedding Gift in 1879. Appropriate to wear
: them to her daughter's Silver wedding
: anniversary. Now, it could be my imagination
: but I see a few large round diamonds in the
: front (green) and what maybe stars (red)
: attached to the base.... The stars would
: also make sense as these were also gifts
    : for......her wedding.
    :
    :
    :
    :
: Or it could be something totally different
    : of course.

: She is wearing her diamond brooch. She only
    : had three tiara's:
    :
    : 1 The Saphire parure
: 2 the Mellerio ruby parure
: 3 her diamond tiara with the stars
    :
: 1 and 3 have two different ways of wearing
: them (the saphire tiara can be worn in the
: second setting seen on Mabel and Maxima) and
: the diamond tiara can be worn as Beatrix
: does or with the stars on top.
    :
: As Emma is seen wearing the diamond
: stomacher she got for her wedding my bet is
: she is wearing a diamond tiara so either the
: smaller setting of the saphire parure or her
: own diamond tiara in either setting.

    : " Looks like a leafy motif.... "
    :
    : Indeed it does
: Thanks so much for the photo, will be fun
: finding out which jewel this might be....
: Thank Goodness the brooch is clearly visible
