I love Pinterest but I take some of what I see, referring to royal jewels, with a grain of salt. If it is something I have seen before here, I have no question but some are...questionable to be sure. I have my own Pinterest page called "Tiaras and such" and, with a few exceptions, most are pieces I have seen here first! Another interesting tidbit, I went on Ebay looking for diamond tiaras (I was bored, what can I tell you). There is a company selling replicas of very well know tiaras, made with real stones and all, but they never say that they're replicas. I think it's ridiculous that they get away with it. --Previous Message-- : : For some time now I have been convinced that : this board has been a very strong and : positive influence in the realm of royal : jewels on the internet. : : We used to see the same old myths repeated : here until those posters got the message, : that they were simply repeating rumours. : This board dealt in getting hold of facts. : And , we spotted the tweaked pics and : boldly pointed that out. : : In my view, sites like Pinterest and many : blogs exist today as a consequence of good : and persistent work done here. : : : --Previous Message-- : : I noticed some of the pics are listed as : coming from this Board. You have to take : some of the photos and descriptions with a : big grain of salt. : --Previous Message-- : : My understanding is that it is simply a : giant pinboard in cyber space. : You simply post a pic you like in the : relevant topic section of the site. : : : --Previous Message-- : What exactly is Pinterest? : : --Previous Message-- : I concur. : : --Previous Message-- : : Thank you Clementine. I thought it was too : good to be true. I appreciate when I am : gently put straight as in the case of the : tremblilant jewels. : : It is how we learn. : --Previous Message-- : My apologies in advance if my comment may : offend . I really think that too many : Pinterest accounts mix or confuse the real : jewels with replicas or even costume jewelry : Of course most of us are able to : distinguish. And nobody is obliged to go : there. But I think it must be underlined if : some did not pay attention, because it : contributes unfortunately to the spread of : false information on the internet : : I really do not want to be unkind, and I do : not know those posters personally. But some : 'labels' left me speechless : : - 'Marie Antoinette's crown' : : - 'tsarina Alexandra Feodorovna Romanov : crown' : : - 'tsarina Alexandra of Russia' : : - 'Queen Josephine's Amethyst Tiara : originally owned by Napoleon's first wife, : Empress Joséphine' : : : : : : : : : : : : :
