I cannot found anything about an attempt like this. The House of Sachsen-Weimar-Eisenach (not to confuse with the Hause Sachsen or Sachsen-Meiningen or Sachsen-Coburg-Gotha) has had a regulation with the State of Thuringa about the possession after the end of the monarchy. Some went to the State, some to the family. In 1945 and the years after plunderings were done in Weimar and other places. In 1948 the civil rights of the family members were drawn off, which meant in the end they were dispossessed. The "Klassik Stiftung Weimar" gives more explanations about it here (in german):

In all this I couldnŽt found anything about jewellery. I guess there were nothing like crown jewels, this was never a royal house. So I suppose that the jewellery was seen as privat property. As many former ruling houses the Sachsen-Weimar-Eisenach had some financial problems in the 20th and sold some objet dŽart on the international market. Perhaps some jewellery had to go the same way. In Weimar and the Manors around IŽve see many things but nothing of that old glitter
