Leopold III gave both his daughters-in-law a tiara from his wife. The new queen Fabiola received the grand diamond tiara of the late queen Astrid and Paola got the art deco bandeau. This tiara had originally belonged to Queen Elisabeth who gave it to her daughter-in-law for the birth of Albert (II).

I agree with you that the emerald necklace/tiara and the big emerald brooch are most likely still in the royal vaults and could very well be in the hands of Fabiola.

: No , only one brooch (cross) was dismantled by
: Grand Duchess Josephine Charlotte to allow
: Van Cleef and Arpels to create her tiara.
    :
: The star brooch is I think but not sure ,
: the one Queen Fabiola was wearing only 2
    : times.
    : For Queen Paola 's emerald brooch, i don't
    : know.
    :
: The emerald tiara (to important to be
: broken) is still in the royal vault (Queen
: Fabiola ?) who never wore a lot of Queen
: Astrid's private jewels except the small
    : pendant brooch.
    :
: If Princess Paola received the deco-tiara in
: 1960 from King Leopold III , what did Queen
: Fabiola receive from Queen Astrid's jewels
    : ??
    :
: But where is the huge emerald brooch/
: pendant Princess Lilian wore so often ?
    :
: Princesses Lea and Maria Esmeralda are not
    : wearing diamonds jewels.

: Could it be that the emerald tiara is broken
: up to make 3 identical emerald brooches for
    : her children?
    :
: The last time the emerald tiara was seen,
: was on HRH Lilian, the Princess of Réthy!
