Carla, you are not the only one who never watched Downton Abbey. I too never watch that show.
--Previous Message-- : The term "backside", the way you : used it was perfectly innocent, nothing : wrong with it. : As another poster said, it can be a bad : phrase but it's all about how you use it. : I don't think innocent discussions about the : jewels on Downtown Abbey count . : ....btw..is now a good time to admit that I : am probably the only person on this board : who has never watched Downton Abbey ? : : --Previous Message-- : It broadcasted in Portugal on december 26th. : I : agree, the tiaras looked real enough but had : no sparckle or any glitter! I liked the one : on Countess Grantham, it reminded me of some : I've seen. I imagine, if the tiaras were : indeed real, that they tried them not to : glitter much, for camera efects I supose. : But Shirley MacLaine's "emerald : tiara" was the poorest imitation of a : tiara possible! And suposably worn by an : american multimilionaire...When she turned : her back on the camera the back side of the : tiara looked like plastic...and perhaps it : was Does anyone have a pic of it so we can : have a better look? : : : : : : --Previous Message-- : Yesterday Dutch TV finally showed the last : episode of the last series of Downton Abbey. : Lots of diadems and jewels because there : were three different evening events with : jewels. : : There was anticipation on this board because : even real (historical) jewels would have : been used. I must say, I was disappointed. : Or all jewels were fake, or the lighting was : poor, but in general there was hardly any : sparkle coming from these jewels. Even : simple rhinestone or swarovski crystal : jewels sparkle more than what I saw on : Downton Abbey. I was pretty un-impressed : with the jewelry. What are the feelings of : the others who probably saw Downton Abbey as : well? : : : : :
