Barbara, as you and others above mentioned, the animation illustrates how differently jewels appear in motion rather than in photos. And I'm sure it is much better to see in person!
As with the photographs in Field and Roberts, in this photo from the Royal Collection the marquise diamonds that encircle the Williamson pink brilliant are barely noticeable, even when magnified greatly.
However, in this portrait of HM by Jane Bown from the National Portrait Gallery which shows the brooch's profile, the marquise stones are much more prominent and we see that the petals actually recede downward.
