In response to Jinja too, I have thought that people with an eye to history have ensured that various jewels that reached the Queen eventually from her mother's hoard have been overhauled and then worn publicly at least once by the Queen for the record, at the very least.
I cannot suggest why the two necklaces should have been negelected for so many years. But I do love the way the London fringe necklace lies easily and cosily against the skin.
