Indeed they seem quite valuable. As I said in another message, I'm not convinced that they are heirloom pieces. In such classic style I find difficult to say if they are new or old. I haven't seen D.Maria Francisca wearing them either and from Queen Amelia they certainly are not. But I cannot say they are not from Queen Maria Pia. Think with me: Queen Maria Pia went to exile to Italy and probably took with her some of her jewels. I know that most of her jewels were in a bank as a warranty but not sure if all of them. When Queen Maria Pia died, King Manuel II probably inherited something from his grandmother. But the King died in 1932 without descendence, so his mother and his wife inherited some of his belongs and Queen Amelia may inherited jewels that once belonged to her mother-in-law. Finally when Queen Amelia died those hypothetical jewels may had passed to D.Duarte. However for me the earrings were made to mimic the tiara for the wedding. There is no picture of Queen Amelia wearing Queen Maria Pia necklace but it is possible Queen Amelia wore it when D.Carlos ascended to the throne. I agree with you: the sapphire necklace looks very modern and it could be worn beautifully nowadays. Thanks for all those pictures.
