Cristina, it was Lorenzo who started this thread, not me. This time I'm innocent . Somehow the threads about the portuguese royal jewels are multiplying. I also have the idea that this brooch is made of diamonds and emeralds (as the earrings). Actually I think that I already saw pictures of HRH D.Isabel wearing both the brooch and the earrings. Unfortunately some year ago I lost the picture of D.Isabel wearing this brooch. But I'm going to try to find more pictures in my archives. Probably you are right and it is in fact the Castle of Guimarães. If so it is a very significant foto. Personally I don't belive the Royal House sold any jewel. I also don't belive that at this moment D.Isabel don't have access to all the family jewels, whether inherited by D.Duarte, D. Miguel or D.Henrique. The last picture you published is wonderful. The glitter of the brooch and the size of the diamonds (specially the pendant) is amazing. A little OT: how did a Savoy piece ended in the Royal House vaults? Could that mean that some of the pieces of Queen Maria Pia travelled to D.Manuel II, then to D.Amelia and finally to D.Duarte, as I once sugested?
