The Jewelry and the Hair Archived Message

I'm torn. On one hand, I think HRH's appearance didn't show adequate respect for the loan of the historic piece she was wearing. On the other hand, I admire her for wearing it in her own way, representing herself as she chooses - after all, she's in it for the long haul. I don't quite know how to put it into words but if I were loaned such an item, I would make every effort to show maximum deferential respect to the history of the item and the person who loaned it to me; try to "do it justice". And, perhaps that is what HRH did. Eye of the beholder. I do think she's lovely, respectful, dignified, and takes the role seriously. Happy she wore it and hope we see more. --Previous Message-- : I agree that the hair of the Duchess of : Cambridge ruined the showcase of that lovely : necklace of the Queen's. If there is a : wonderful set of jewelry loaned to the : Duchess from the Queen, I really wish she : takes time to put up her hair out of the way : to show the jewel set to great effect. : : In my humble opinion, the Queen did showcase : this particular jewelry much better than did : the Duchess. See these two pictures of the : Queen wearing that set. : : (source: magazines in my collection) : : : : : : : --Previous Message-- : Your quite right Henri....wonderful gems : spoiled by the hair... : : --Previous Message-- : Stunning jewels. Sadly the overall image is : ruïned by all that hair around. It is a good : start anyway, of a life long of stunning : jewels to come. : : : : :
