Thank you for starting another Braganza jewels thread Jorge, with the beautiful "Dona Filipa brooch" (this is how I call it ).

I have also no further information on the provenance of this brooch (apart from Infanta Dona Filipa that is), but I agree with you that could be most likely a Liechtenstein or a Löwenstein-Wertheim-Rosenborg inheritance that the infanta wanted to pass on to the main line. But again, we have no confirmed information on this.

The portuguese jewels book also mentions that the top leaf has a missing Diamond. I think the Duchess could have it solved at Leitão & Irmãos, but perhaps she prefers to keep the jewel as it is (most likely that's how it came from the inheritance of Dona Filipa).

For some years this was the only brooch that Dona Isabel wore at evening/gala ceremonies abroad (Danish wedding, Swedish anniversary...). It is certainly a favourite of hers, and your account of the Duchess words on this brooch and how it reminds her of her children is really beautiful, I' did not know that.

: One of the jewels most cherished by HRH the
: Duchess of Braganza is Infanta D. Filipa
: Brooch. The only thing I know for sure is
: that this jewel was inherited by D.Duarte
: from his aunt, the Infanta D.Filipa, sister
    : of D.Duarte Nuno (the present Duke’s
: father). D.Filipa never married so it may be
: a Braganza heirloom (or even Liechtenstein
    : or Löwenstein-Wertheim-Rochefort). It may
: also be simply acquired by D.Filipa. Does
: anyone has more information about this
    : brooch origin?
    :
: The brooch has the form of a small bouquet
: with a big diamond as a flower and two big
: pearls (one white and other rose) in the
: leafs. As I said before this is a favorite
: jewel of D.Isabel. She stated several times
: that associates each of the main gems in the
: brooch to each of her sons and daughter,
: which is a beautiful meaning for a beautiful
    : jewel.
