    Queen Alexandra's brooch Archived Message

This brooch was inherited from Queen Alexandra of England. Was it a gift from her lifetime to her daughter, Queen Maud or passed on Queen Maud at her mother's death, I don't know.

Here, a picture of Queen Alexandra wearing it. She wore it as a brooch, with the pearl drop, on her shoudler.

Then, some other photos of Queen Sonja wearing it both ways (as a brooch and as a pendant to her necklace).

The brooch seemed to be made of a big central diamond suronded by two rows of smaller diamonds. A pearl drop can be attached to it.

It's such a lovely brooch ! Curious that we have never seen pictures of Queen Maud nor Princess Martha wearing it ! Even Queen Sonja rarely wears it.

I wonder if the brooch could have been amount the other jewelry stolen with Queen Maud's tiara in 1995... I remember at the time that it was said that the tiara was not the only piece of jewelry having been stolen....

But it's probably not the case if you have pictures of the Queen wearing it after 1995....
