Nellie, have you ever come across this article with the above title, published in 'Woman' in 1961.
It says quote: ' The Duchess's "best" tiara was left to her husband by Princess Louise, one of Queen Victoria's daughters.
It is made up of reversed heart-shaped festoons of diamonds, with a great pearl set high on each diamond heart spike and is specially delicate-looking and light to wear'
Sounds to me like information from someone who knew.

: In a fairly authoritative magazine article,
: published in the sixties, it was stated that
: Princess Marina's diamond and pearl tiara,
: as worn for the 1953 Coronation, had been
: inherited from Princess Louise, Duchess of
    : Argyll.

: Louise or Marina wearing the opal &
: diamond necklace and the emerald necklace? I
: wonder what became of them, has the present
: Duchess of Kent ever been seen in something
    : matching their description?
