Following on from the recent discussion of Camilla's mother of pearl turtle brooch I came across this photo of Pss Alexandra of Kent on Pinterest wearing one. Hers looks to be gold and emerald.
I wonder if someone once gave these brooches to a group of female relatives? Daughters-in-law of George V maybe? (Camilla's from the Queen mother & Alexandra's from her own mother). Or perhaps them both having an example of this animal brooch is a happy coincidence.
