I agree. When Queen Máxima walked out the Royal Palace on Investiture Day, wearing that (re-set) large diamond-and-sapphire diadem, seeing the proceedings on the day before (Banquet in the Rijksmuseum) and the King's Pageant afterwards: black tie - white tie - black tie in a row, I knew that a new wind is blowing in the kingdom.
King Willem-Alexander shows that it cán: increasing royal ceremonial. All this after decades of only making things simpler. Who would have thought the Dutch Court to become "more Scandinavian" in splendour? Now I am convinced that we will see the full Mellerio Ruby Parure, the full Peacock Ruby Parure, the full Sapphire Parure of Queen Emma including the massive bracelets, the remnants of the Wedding Gift Parure 1901 and... the full New Crown Parure in all their glory. Not now. Not next year. After all Queen Máxima has 30-40 years before we will have a Queen Catharina-Amalia. And seeing the King using ceremonial mounted escorte, a gala day tenue and a state landau "just" to attend a ceremony of the Royal Army might hint that maybe a ceremonial ride will be re-introduced when there is a major royal State Visit.
