    When Alix of Hesse-Darmstadt married Nicholas II of Russia, she received two splendid necklaces: one very long satoir of pearls, the most expensive gift never crafted by Fabergé, and an impressive diamond necklace, both presents of Nicholas and her future parents-in-law.The cost was 177.000 roubles and 168.000 the second one. Others say the satoir cost was 250.000 roubles, 22,5 million of British current pounds...
