    I know that some (or all) of the aquamarines in the tiara were from Brazil but there were at least 2 sets of these gems given to QEII. One set in 1953 as a coronation gift consisted of a necklace and earrings. In 1968 she received more during a state visit to Brazil. She may have also used stones already in her collection in the initial creation of the tiara. It was embellished in 1971.

    These various pieces of aquamarine jewelery were re-worked over the years to end-up as the parure seen today.
