Given the nature of this tour, it seems to me we were warned that there would not be tuxedos or elaborate jewels. Catherine did wear the fern leaf brooch twice in New Zealand, just as she wore the maple leaf brooch a few times in Canada. There may not be a suitable choice for Australia, since the wattle brooch is very large and ornate, and the other Australian brooches maybe are not seen as symbols of the country, at least not part of the local flag. The wattle is also a great favorite of the Queen, and she might be more reluctant to send it on tour with anyone else. In addition to all of this, Catherine seems most comfortable in her own jewelry, which is part of her life with William and her family.
