    My guess is that it was loaned to Pns Margaret by QEQM and ultimately inherited by the Queen on her mother's passing as this seems to be the case with the bulk of QEQM's jewels.
    Also, as mentioned, this is not the easiest piece to wear and I would expect that it would have been sold the Pns Margaret's children. But who knows, it may have had sentimental value and still be owned by one of them.
    I guess we will never really know until we see it worn again.
