    It is possible. It is one of those Edwardian pieces worn, for instance, at dinner, not necessarily for public occasions. Also, peridot was one of the favourite stones of Edward VII, so it would not be surprising if Queen Maud had been given such a piece. Speculation, of course, but entirely possible.
