The story on the Carrera & Carrera tiara is totally new to me. I agree with Martina, its hard to believe that this piece was not known before nor publicized.
The Ansorena tiara seems to have been delivered to the Princess in recent years, when the spanish monarchy was already under criticism and Spain was facing economical crisis. I think its wise of her not to "display" it for now (although I would very much like to see her wearing it!). Certain press would love to criticize her heavily if she appear in "new very expensive jewelry" while spanish families are facing very hard times...
According to Hola magazine, Queen Sofia would have called this tiara preciosa (lovely!)
The princess has, however, worn the detachable center fleur-de-lys as brooch
