Yesterday, on the reception hosted by US president and his wife, Queen Letizia of Spain wore a pair of Bulgari aquamarine earrings that were not seen since may 2006.
According to the (gossip...) site Vanitatis these earrings were a gift from Bulgari to the then Pss of Asturias to celebrate the birth of her first born daughter Infanta Leonor. It seems that when Infanta Sofia was born Bulgari made another gift to the Pss, this time a greek key motif diamond and 18 carat white gold ring that it was a favourite of hers for sometime. Estimated value: 10.000 euros.
Nice to have aquamarine jewelry back to the Spanish royal ladies, as we know the fabulous aquamarines of Queen Ena are now worn by her great-grandaughter Pss Sybilla of Luxembourg.
I think the earrings are very modern and beautiful, the aquamarines are stunning. They look wonderful on Queen Letizia, she should wear them more often.
