Last Friday (3rd October 2014), King Philip VI and Queen Letizia of Spain attended a gala dinner in connection with a journalism award, held in Madrid at the Spanish national daily newspaper ABC. The royal couple presented winners with the "Mariano de Cavia", "Luca de Tena" and "Mingote" awards — the oldest and most prestigious honours in Spanish journalism.
As usual, Queen Letizia was rather scarce with her jewels. Yet, she wore an interesting pair of ruby and diamond earrings that she has worn at least once earlier (in November 2013 in Los Angeles, California).
Does anyone know the origin of these earrings? Were they seen on Queen Sofia? Were they worn by Letizia before the visit in California in 2013?
