    Hello Nellie and Beth1,

we have recently discussed a pair of sapphire (and not ruby) fringe earrings belonging to the Queen Mother:

I have never heard either of ruby fringe earrings, whether in QEQM's or in QEII's collection.

On the picture posted by Nellie, which was taken in 1951, Queen(-Mother) Elizabeth wears her pair of ruby clips, part of the Greville bequest. She also wears an Art Déco ruby and diamond bracelet that she has worn occasionally:

On the pictures below (from the same event as the picture posted by Nellie), we can see the earrings worn by QEQM slightly better. I think that they are her diamond "flower" earrings, made of marquise-cut diamonds, that she wore throughout her life (and that Queen Elizabeth II wore occasionally after 2002):

    : Hello Nellie,
: I have never heard of ruby fringe earrings
: before -- which highlights my limited
: knowledge of the British collection.
: Could you provide some background
: information about these earrings, please. I
    : am intrigued.
: The earrings in your photo definitely appear
    : to have 'fringes'.
