    Interesting pictures Joye.

    I think that this is a very interesting thread but it will be hard, no doubt, to gather much information since parasols have pretty much fallen out of fashion.

    I have to admit that the Duchess of Cornwall, whom I understand does not do too well in the heat, uses one when abroad but I do not think that her's are as bejeweled as those of previous generations.



    The use of the fan as a royal accouterment has also fallen out of fashion. Theses too tended to be very gem-laden. Are there any Courts where fans are still used occasionally?
