Your photo from 1907 clinches matters in my opinion.
The second and third photo in your post show QM wearing what I think are small cabochon emerald earrings. The dates of when the photos were taken are, in my opinion, crucial for any evaluation about the earrings. Queen Mary was photographed wearing small emerald earrings at the investiture of Edward, Prince of Wales, an event which occurred before the Delhi Durbar.
I think that the information on the Royal collection site is important. It clearly states that the crown jewellers found a match for one of the Cambridge emeralds and made the earrings which Queen Mary wore for the first time at the Dehli Durbar. The site also confirms your theory that what we call the emerald choker, as worn by the late Princess of Wales, is not part of the Cambridge emeralds and was presented to Queen Mary by the Ladies of India.
