Joye posted a thread earlier, I posted a pic of Cat's Eye Chrysoberyl further down the thread. Here http://members2.boardhost.com/royal-jewels/msg/1415164550.html The only argument I have for it is the cat's eye effect that can clearly be seen on Camilla's bracelet. It's a rare effect that happens on so few stones.
Call it a gut feeling. I've been a jeweller for 25 years, working with gems every day and as soon as I saw Camilla's bracelet I thought Chrysoberyl. It's so distinctive and hard to mistake.
Of course I could be wrong, and my comments on the Alexandra bracelet were just guesswork. After all, how can we really be sure?
--Previous Message-- : : Lennick - do you mean a chrysoberyl in that : bracelet? Unfortunately that pic has been : colourised. : : Edit: I cannot identify the gem but am now : convinced that it is not a pearl in : Camilla's bracelet. : : Edit 2: a pic for comparisons : : : : : : : : : : : --Previous Message-- : Excellent find Joye. Looks like the same : piece to me. I remain convinced that the : stone is a Chrysoberyl. : : --Previous Message-- : : : : : : : --Previous Message-- : I stumbled across the picture of Q Alexandra : and realise that her bracelet is similar to : Camilla's gold bracelet with half pearl : : : : : : : : : : : : :
