A most unique woman and aristocrat.

A portrait of her mother Maria del Rosario de Silva y Guturbay, deceased at a very young age, wearing the emerald ducal crown/tiara, the emerald earrings and a diamond riviére sautoir.

These ducal crowns were relatively common worn by ladies of the nobility; Queen Fabiola's mother had one also and she received another from the Spanish state. Many spanish nobel houses had similar pieces.

    Some more Alba jewels:

The "russian" tiara. It was known as "La russa" for its kokoshnik shape. Doña Cayetana inherited it from her maternal grandmother, and it seems it was a jewel she estimed much. However it was sold in the 1990's to pay for a prized horse for the Duchess youngest son Cayetano. It was worn as bridal tiara by Pss Maria of Hohenlohe in 1977 when she married the Duchess's second son the Duke of Aliaga. Cayetana wrote inher memoirs that the bride was not very keen on wearing this tiara... It was worn for the last time in 1988, as bridal tiara of Matilde Solís when she married the future Duke of Alba.

The pearl tiara known as "Empress Eugenie tiara". The jewel can be removed from the frame and worn as necklace. It was the bridal tiara of Cayetana and also her only daughter Eugenia, Duchess of Montoro.

In 2005 the Duchess lent her daughter in law Genoveva Casanova her Ansorena diamond bracelet to be worn as bridal tiara. The Duchess wore the bracelet also in 2011 for her 3rd wedding. She also wore her long diamond earrings.

The artdeco emerald necklace. The emeralds wore removed and sold, and if I'm not mistaken the necklace was also sold.

Some other wonderful Alba emerald jewels. The last picture is from Pc Charles and DoC visit to Spain in 2011.

Saphires for a gala in 1999.

Diamond riviére and earrings for the visit of her childhood playmate QEII in 1988.
