I applaud Margriet for wearing tiaras when attending a Peter Stuyvesant gala in New York - she has done so for many years - however I can't change the fact that she wore these two pieces for the first time but not necessarily to their and the wearers advantage. In most cases the Princess' choice of jewels is impeccable. OT: Funny the difference in the couples reaction to the last question of the short interview about Maxima's father and Pieter van Vollenhoven starts rambling away and then the Princess cuts in and says that journalists should check their facts better: its a pity and painful. End of interview. Brilliant! --Previous Message-- : My remark was not at all meant in any way : critical, John. I was just stating a fact. : You probably saw this tiara exhbited at Loo : Palace too, so you know it is quite a : substantial piece. : : --Previous Message-- : My oh my what a critical remarks everyone : makes on this and the other royal : jewelsboard... : Instead of being happy for a : tiara-appearance in the US of all places : (whén was the last time you saw a princess : in the states wearing a tiara?) everyone : knows better... : Lets be thankful that the Dutch royal family : still wear grand jewels in abundance instead : of being so haughty and wanting to change : their appearance. : : : : --Previous Message-- : There is not much wrong with the substance : of : this tiara, but if it's laid flat on the : head in a rather big hairdo, like her : sister, former Queen Beatrix, also does, it : seems much smaller than it actually is. : : --Previous Message-- : Although the stars are perhaps a nice nod to : the US, I would have preferred a more : substantial tiara to go with the brooch. : : : : : : :
