Dear Nellie, I don't know.... I do think that her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II took after the death of her mother all the jewels she wanted for her and afterwards loanned the others she did not want for her to the use of the wife of the prince of Wales. Franck --Previous Message-- : My belief is that the Queen Mother hung on to : the Teck tiara and it probably stayed at : Clarence House like other pieces and is : therefore described as on loan to Camilla. : : --Previous Message-- : I was surprised to read in The Queen's : Diamonds by Roberts that the Duchess of : Teck's tiara has been given to the Duchess : of Cornwall to wear, as I doubt if this : tiara would suit the Duchess. : : While I would like to see it worn again, I : suspect that, in its current format, it : would be a disappointment on the Duchess of : Cornwall. It didn't look to its best : advantage on HM, Queen Elizabeth the Queen : Mother in its current format. : : I suspect it needs an additional base of : diamonds (as the Duchess of Teck wore it) to : be seen to advantage. : : --Previous Message-- : Dear all, : : Please note that that the Duchess of : Cornwall wore last night her family’s : Cubitt-Shand tiara as she was pictured with : Prince Charles arriving at a reception for : members of the diplomatic corps. : : It this the first time we have seen photos : of her arrival for this annual reception for : ages. : : I am therefore convinced that she has worn : other tiaras for this event and particulary : the Teck tiara. : : Best regards, : : Franck : : : : : : :
