Queen Elizabeth II did not give us in 2014 many surprises with her necklaces and her tiaras (or should I say "her tiara", in the singular, as she seems to wear now almost exclusively the Girls of Great-Britain and Ireland Tiara?), but she delighted us with a generous bunch of unknown or never-worn brooches: 2 February 2014: first outing of the Tourmaline Brooch presented to the Queen in October 2013 by the Lieutenant-Governor of Saskatchewan (divine service in King's Lynn, Norfolk). This brooch was worn a second time on 20 June 2014 during Royal Ascot week: (Credit: Chris Jackson/Getty Images Europe) 10 March 2014: first wearing of a large diamond brooch at a Commonwealth reception: (Credit: WPA Pool/Getty Images Europe) 3 April 2014: first wearing of Queen Mary's large sapphire and diamond Russian Brooch (official visit to the President of Italy and to HH Pope Francis): (Credit: Ernesto Ruscio/Getty Images Europe [1st picture] and Franco Origlia/Getty Images Europe [2nd picture]) 6 May 2014: first public wearing of the Daffodil Diamond Brooch (reportedly a Diamond Jubilee gift from the Sultan of Oman - the Queen had already worn this brooch on a portrait by Dan Llywelyn Hall in 2012) (visit to Chelmsford, Essex): (Credit: WPA Pool/Getty Images Europe) 5 June 2014: probably the "BBB Day" (Big Brooch Bash) from Her Majesty, as Queen Elizabeth II wore successively on that day not less than FOUR brooches, including two that she had never worn publicly before : - the Botswana Diamond and Gold Brooch (worn for the arrival at the Gare du Nord in Paris, at the beginning of her State visit to France): (Credit: Pascal Le Segretain/Getty Images Europe) - a modern diamond floral spray made with white, yellow and pink diamonds (reception at the British embassy in Paris): (Credit: WPA Pool/Getty Images Europe) The floral spray was worn twice later in the year (18 June 2014 at Royal Ascot and 23 July 2014 in Glasgow for the Opening of the Commonwealth Games): (Credit: Stuart C. Wilson/Getty Images Europe [1st picture] and Chris Jackson/Getty Images Europe [2nd picture]) 6 June 2014: for the celebrations of the D-Day celebrations in Normandy, Queen Elizabeth II wore for the second time Queen Victoria's Fringe Brooch (the first time was in 2011 for the Turkish State visit to Britain): (Credit: Chris Jackson/Getty Images Europe) Later that day, for the State dinner at the Elysée Palace, she wore the Queen Mother's Ruby and Diamond Spray Brooch, that she had worn only once in 2008: 17 June 2014: first wearing of the baroque pearl and diamond Two-Swan Brooch (Royal Ascot): (Credit: Chris Jackson/Getty Images Europe) 19 June 2014: first wearing of Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother's Aquamarine and Diamond Aquamarine Brooch (Royal Ascot week, and later on 6 November at The Recovery Pathway Reception at Buckingham Palace): (Credit: Stuart C. Wilson/Getty Images Europe [1st picture] and WPA Pool/Getty Images Europe [2nd image]) 24 June 2014: second wearing by Her Majesty (and the first one since 1972!) of Queen Alexandra's pearl and diamond wedding brooch (visit to Northern Ireland): (Credit: WPA Pool/Getty Images Europe) 25 June 2014: first wearing of the Bronte Porcelain Snow-drop Brooch (visit to Northern Ireland): (Credit: WPA Pool/Getty Images Europe) 10 July 2014: first wearing of an unknown but beautiful turquoise and diamond brooch (visit to Derbyshire): (Credit: WPA Pool/Getty Images Europe) 14 September 2014: first outing ever of the multigem bouquet brooch (divine service at Crathie Kirk): (Source: Royalista.com) 18 October 2014: one of the rare outings of the small multigem, diamond and gold brooch (BQIPCO British Champions Day 2014 at Ascot Racecourse): (Credit: Tristan Fewings/Getty Images Europe) 8 November 2014: first wearing of Queen Mary's Richmond Brooch since 2009 (Remembrance Festival at London's Royal Albert Hall): (Credit: Matthew Lloyd/Getty Images Europe)
