What is the point of showering the Princesses with jewels when they lose everything when they marry?

: Perhap[s the Agency does have a role. All the

: I have read that the royal ladies in Japan
    : do
    : not have pierced ears.
    :
: The apparent differences might be due to the
: proportions of the ear lobe of each
: individual lady or a deliberate choice for
: the position of the diamonds based on each
    : lady's preference.
    :
: Since so many Japanese royal ladies have the
: same style of earring, it would appear that
: the style has some significance. I wonder if
: the Imperial Royal Household Agency has a
: say in the style of jewels chosen for the
    : royal ladies?

: It seems the diamond earrings are also of a
: design comon to several ladies in the
: imperial family. CP Masako ones seem to be a
: bit longer. Perhaps these design of earrings
    : is also a tradition?

    :
: Perhaps the ones worn by CP Masako are the
: ones worn previously by Empresses Nagako and
: Michiko (the scroll and the fringe parures
: pass to CP Masako when she married the crown
: prince, perhaps the earrings were
: included?). But Pss Kiko and her daughters
: certainly have their own pairs. CP Masako
: and Pss Kiko seem to be wearing theirs in
: the HQ pic posted by Lukasz.

: Usually each japanese princess reaching
    : adult
: age (20) will get her own parure of matching
: jewels. What a wonderful tradition . The
: necklace of the parure is normally a
: mirrored image of the tiara.
    :
: Here's a pic of Pss Kako's older sister Pss
: Mako, who turned 20 in october 2011, and
: also got her own diamond parure. The
: earrings worn by both sisters seem very
    : similar.
    :
    :
    :
: Comparing both parures I must say I prefer
: Pss Kako's. I hope we will get the chance to
: see these jewels worn by the princeses at
    : oficial events .

: Is this a tiara we have seen previously, or
: is it new for the Princess?
