Thank you Josefine and Arthur for the wonderful photos of this brooch - a very interesting piece.
Over the years the chalky, milky white look of the two strand pearl necklace (with the clasp worn on the side) has intrigued me.
I know that this is a historic set of pearls; yet, I am intrigued as to why the pearls do not have any significant lustre or orient.
Does anyone have any information about these pearls or thoughts re their lustre? Could it be possible that they are large, round, matched, freshwater pearls and not salt water pearls?
