Could this pair of earrings be this one? The description quoted by Field ("pendant pearls suspended from 5 tiers of collet and baguette cut diamonds") could be a match:
Contrary to what is written in Field, these earrings were worn occasionally by Princess Elizabeth/Queen Elizabeth II in the 1940s/1950s - but apparently not later:
After a long stay in the royal vaults, these earrins appeared again in 2007, for a summer exhibition at Buckingham Palace marking the Queen's and the Duke of Edinburgh's 60th wedding anniversary (see link above).
They were later seen on the Countess of Wessex (but I don't know if is a gift or a loan from the Queen to her daughter-in-law):
