    What a striking brooch. Thank you for the photos Arthur.

    I am intrigued by this brooch on 2 counts.

    First, it appears to be attached to the dress by black cotton thread on the top left hand section of the brooch (as we look at it), which suggests the brooch is not balanced by its pin structure.

    Secondly, I cannot make up my mind as to whether this brooch has real gems (of whatever variety) or if it is a costume piece. Only knowledge of the wealth of the Thai royal family inclines me to think it is made of genuine gems.
