There is an irony that the French government of the time was so eager to sell these off, and now the nation is having to buy back what was once theirs! The loss of the French and Russian Crown Jewels are twin losses to the history of jewellery. --Previous Message-- : A pearl and diamond brooch made by Kramer in : 1853 for the wedding of Eugenie to Napoleon : III.
