When I think of those pictures of Queen Alexandra wearing so very many pieces, all the way down the front... THOSE might have been (must have been?) sewn on.
--Previous Message-- : Ha! well, yes, this topic is pretty low on : the serious scale. : Also HM's clothing is made specifically for : brooches, and the brooches are well designed : and balanced... unlike items in my world. : : : : : : : --Previous Message-- : : I am so glad you enjoyed that!! It's not : easy to deal in humour on the internet. : : : --Previous Message-- : All excellent points and I agree with every : one! : : : --Previous Message-- : : I think it is unklikely that Queen Elizabeth : II would use stitching to secure any brooch. : First, I do believe her jewellery is kept in : tip top condition so that fasteners would be : reliable. : Second, it is unlikely that anyone would be : pushing past her close enough to dislodge : anything. : Third, I expect she has long since given up : vigorous forms of dancing in public. : : : --Previous Message-- : The only problem (if you can call it that) I : can see is that QEII often moves her brooch : from her coat to her dress and back again. : : I doubt that the brooch would get sewn on : each time. : : This might be done with certain brooches : where the pin is perhaps not a secure. : : Hard to tell i thinks until we see it being : done. : : : : : : : : :
