One of the exhibitions, India: Jewels That Enchanted The World, claims to be showing the Timur Ruby on loan from a Kuwaiti collection but I thought the Timur Ruby belonged in the British Royal Collection. Are there two Timur Rubies?
From the exhibition's website "Inscribed royal spinel «The Timur Ruby»
Mughal dominions, before 1449 to mid-18th century. Ruby 249.3 carats. The al-Sabah Collection, Kuwait.
The magnificent gem, known as the Timur Ruby, is in fact a carved spinel, and is drilled, engraved with a diamond stylus, and wheel cut."
