Danish gala - the birthday girl and her diamond tiaraArchived Message

I know it is mostly a matter of taste, but I dislike the way Queen Margrethe most frequently wears this tiara. As we know, the tiara is made of three detachable elements: a central floral spray, and two laurel branches. Tonight, as she does most frequently, Queen Margrethe did not wear the tiara as a full vertical circlet (as Queen Ingrid did, and as Queen Margrethe herself did a few times), but she pinned the two laurel branches on the sides of her chignon (so quite at the back of the head), and pinned the central spray on her chignon, almost horizontally, at the back of her head. The negative consequence of such a setting is that, when we see the Queen frontally, the tiara is hardly visible!
We could get a good view of the tiara only when the Queen was filmed/photographed from above, as on these screen captures from the Danish Television's broadcast:
I would like it better if Queen Margrethe wore this tiara in a more classical way, with the different elements connected together, and standing vertically, like a circlet, to be visible to each and everyone, like on the following pictures:
Anyway... Happy birthday, Majesty, and still many more years of happiness at the service of Denmark, with a lot of glittering events!
