Re: Queen Letizia's new tiara, I think I know where you're coming from Nellie. As I see it the problem with the design is that the pearls are simple mounted atop the tiara. They've been drilled and cemented onto small spikes that sit inside the pearl. Nothing unusual about setting pearls that way (it's how just about every pearl stud earring is made).
Consider, though, if they had been set into small diamond set cups, much like the settings of the pearls on the Vladimir tiara. The difference that would make to the design would be huge, in my opinion.
That said, it's always nice to see new Royal jewellery.
As for Queen Margrethe's new set - I love it. She has such great style.
