Yes, the necklace and the earrings Queen Elizabeth wore for the Indian State visit are definitely the modern ruby and diamond parure presented to the Queen in 1985 by Amir Khalifa bin Hamad Al-Thani of Qatar. My point was not about this Qatari set, but about the Burmese ruby tiara: though this tiara was a regular favorite of the Queen from its creation in the early 1970s to the late 2000s, the Queen has not worn it for quite a long time (since the Indian State visit, precisely, in 2009). As I assume this tiara is a private jewel (as opposed to a Crown heirloom or an item belonging to the Royal Collection), I wonder if it could be possible that the Queen could have loaned/given the Burmese ruby tiara, with the matching "floret" ruby earrings, to the Countess of Wessex. OK, I am aware it is only very speculative speculation , so it is only a mere thought from me, with the appropriate interrogation marks, and without an affirmative answer - until we can see the Countess wearing this tiara (maybe for the Swedish wedding next month?).
