Hello Beth, Having read up on this subject recently, I am fairly certain the "Crown ruby necklace, earrings & brooch" that were retained by QEQM until her death in 2002 were part of Queen Victoria`s heirlooms of the crown. They are listed under, Queen Victoria`s Opals "Suite of opal brooch and earrings designed by Prince Consort, opals in earrings replaced by rubies 1902, Opals in brooch replaced by rubies 1926" This is according to Menkes 1985 her source being Twining Papers, Goldsmith`s Hall Library & the Royal Library, Windsor. Also listed is Necklace of opals & brilliants, replaced by rubies 1902. The other jewels I can find from this list that were retained by The Queen Mother is the diamond cockade brooch, the Indian pearls from the treasury at Lahore with the ruby snap, the earrings from the diamond & pearl Diamond Jubilee necklace presented to Queen Victoria in 1897 & the Pearl & diamond brooch with 8 pearls & 3 drop pearls. : : : :
