Also at the prewedding gala the bride and royal guests also wore some nice jewelry pieces.
The bride wore a beautiful set of floral design, made of old silver/white gold (?), diamonds and pearls. I would very much like to see a HQ picture of this set. Its provenance is unknown to me. It comprises a necklace (that Dona Isabel wore as head ornament at the back of her head), a pair of long earrings, a mirrored brooch (worn as corsage brooch) and it seems four smaller brooches.
The Duchess wore again this set at least once, to a gala on the summer following the wedding, but she stop wearing it soon after. These jewels have not been worn in public for many, many years now. A pity, I find them realy beautiful, hope Dona Isabel will favour them again soon.
Royal guests also wore nice jewels. Here's a group photo of some of the guests taken at the equestrian exhibition previous to the gala dinner on May 12th. Infanta Margarita wore her beautiful safires. Maria Teresa of Luxembourg was cut off the pic, she was next to her husband, wearing a red dress and GD Charlotte Diamond Congo necklace.
Princess Maria Gabriella atended with her former husband Mr. Balkany, she wore the magnificent swirl pearl necklace and earrings made from the jewels of Queen Margarita (not the clearest pics, sorry, the pics in the magazine were very small).
At the banquet GD Maria of Russia wore impressive floral earrings and brooch I've never seen before
Duchess Sophie of Wurtemberg wore a huge diamond bow brooch unknown to me. Wurtemberg? Bulgaria?
The groom's first cousin, Maria Teresa de Bragança Van Uden Chaves, daughter of Infanta Dona Maria Adelaide, wore a stunning star brooch, I assume of diamonds. Provenance unknown to me.
