This brooch (that I had never seen before) is probably the only interesting jewellery detail of this State Opening of Parliament.
Besides this brooch, both the Queen and the Duchess of Cornwall opted for the same jewels that have been so much worn for past State openings... Of course, the 1820 Diamond Diadem and the Imperial State Crown were expected, but I would have hoped for something more original than the Coronation riviere... As for Camilla, she has worn the same tiara and choker for all the State Openings she attended - which is strange, considering her vast collection of jewels. And she wore her brooch on the top rather than of the front of her shoulder, which I still find very odd...
Of course, all of these jewels are in themselves very beautiful and dazzling, but I would have hoped for something different from previous years...
