If I well remember, these floral earrings were a 21st-birthday gift presented to the then Princess Elizabeth by the Diplomatic Corps in the UK (source: Field, page 82) - a nice gesture, isn't it?
There are several pictures of the young Princess/Queen wearing these earrings in the late 1940s/early 1950s, then these earrings resurfaced again in the 2000s after decades in the vaults...
