Sapphire pendant (part of) sorry i don't remember who have post the picture. But thank you These earrings come from a set created by the jeweler Bapst for the Duchess of Angouleme, daughter of Louis XVI in 1819. Sapphires earrings have even topped the crown of the coronation of Charles X, ancestor of Duke of Vendôme, the day of his coronation. These jewels sold in 1887 during the famous sales crown jewels were acquired by the jeweler Bapt then a few years later in 1893 by Prince Ferdinand of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha, the future King of the Bulgarians in anticipation of his marriage with Princess Marie -Louise of Bourbon-Parma (1st wife). These precious jewels stayed property of the Royal House of Bulgaria until 1957, since it is on that date that King Simeon II, grand-son of King Ferdinand, decided to offer these drop earrings to Duchess Marie -Thérèse of Württemberg on the occasion of his marriage with the current Count of Paris. King Simeon had explained to the Duchess of Montpensier that he offered her these jewels because of their historic character. The Duchess of Montpensier transmitted recently these gems to his son Jean Duke of Vendôme. The Duchess of Vendome has already brought these earrings at the baptism of his daughter Princess Antoinette in Vienna and at a reception in Germany at the Prince of Schaumburg-Lippe.
